Australian marina Abell Point Marina won gold twice in the Marinas19 Marina of the Year Awards.
Announced on the evening of the 28th May 2019 at the Sea World Resort Conference Centre on the Gold Coast, Abell Point Marina scooped the ‘Commercial Marina 140 Berths and Over’ award and the ‘Best Community Engagement by a Marina’ award.
Kate Purdie, general manager at Abell Point Marina, commented, “It is an honour to be recognised by the MIA who delivered an outstanding Marinas19 conference focused on trends in the marina industry. Of particular note was a panel discussion about increasing the number of women involved in the boating and the marina industry. I am particularly proud of the fact that Abell Point Marina is leading the way in this regard, with a majority female management team which includes women managing our finance, business development, marketing, contracts and customer relations departments.”
Paul Darrouzet, marina owner, added, “To be continually receiving such accolades as these proves that our vision is coming to fruition through the hard work of our staff.”
Abell Point Marina is well on its way to having yet another momentous year in 2019, following on from claiming the ‘Superyacht Business of the Year’ and ‘Major Attraction’ awards in 2018.
The marina recently announced that it has acquired the neighbouring Coral Sea Resort. The two entities will merge to become the eagerly anticipated Coral Sea Marina | Resort on 1st July 2019.
