Admarel to supply lifestyle electronics systems for new 77-metre Damen SeaXplorer

Alewijnse Marine company, Admarel, has been awarded the contract to supply a complete advanced electrical system on board the new expedition yacht, SeaXplorer 77.

Damen Shipyards Group and luxury yacht builder Amels will be working together to build the 77-metre (253-foot) yacht.

The partnership agreed to offer Admarel the contract to deliver a complete suite of AV/IT, CCTV and internal communication systems, including VSAT and TVRO systems.

During the sales process for SeaXplorer 77, Admarel acted as an advisor for the clients, working closely with their project team to fully understand their needs.

The result was a technical solution using the latest technologies available in the market that is future proof. An example of this is the specification of a virtual audio and video matrix using network technology to meet the clients’ demands.

Stefan Nieuwenhuys, sales director at Admarel, commented, “The order from Damen is a perfect fit with our portfolio. Besides navigation and communication systems, Admarel is rapidly establishing a position as a technological leader in AV/IT, lighting control and security systems for the yachting market using high-end solutions.”

Nieuwenhuys continued, “We trust that this order is the start of a long-term relationship with Damen regarding their exciting new range of SeaXplorer vessels.”

SeaXplorer 77 will be built to support extreme sports and remote exploration in both polar and equatorial latitudes, with particular emphasis on helicopter operations.

Her construction will take place at Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania, with outfitting taking place in 2019/2020 at Amels in the Netherlands.
