In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Adrift Film Festival is returning online for its second year to showcase all of the talented content creators producing some of the most unique and rare yachting footage obtainable. Adrift is the only film festival for content-creating yacht crew and is a growing community of the industry's most creative minds. Its aim is to encourage creativity and help support natural disaster relief through donations from around the world.
Founded in 2019 by Luxury Yacht Films founder Shelton Dupreez and Nautic Nomad co-founder Randi Barry, Adrift Film Festival was held in October 2019 at Park & Ocean in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The decision to make Adrift Film Festival an annual event was based on the overwhelmingly positive response in its inaugural year. With over 300 in-person attendees, more than 100 viewers tuning in via Instagram live and 134 video submissions, the event raised over $2,000 (c. 1,711€) for Operation Topaz with Yacht Aid Global.
This year, the proceeds raised from the event will be donated to Operation Nasama with Yacht Aid Global to help bring much-needed aid to communities in Vanuatu recovering from the effects of Tropical Cyclone Harold during the coronavirus pandemic. Due to the current circumstances, Adrift Film Festival will be a virtual event this year for all to attend. The live stream will take place on Sunday 11th October 2020 at 12pm EST and viewers can tune-in at the Adrift YouTube channel.
Submissions are now open to all content creators who are working on board, employed or in between jobs. Entries close on 30th September 2020 at midnight. Videos can be about anything that conjures travel, adventure, a message or simply good times.
The top 20 submissions will make up the Adrift 2020 reel and prizes will be awarded in three categories: Inspiration, Realism, and Laughter. ‘Inspirational’ is awarded to the most inspirational video focused on creativeness, travel or giving back. ‘Realism’ is awarded to the video that portrays the most realistic example of what it's like to live on a yacht with a crew, for example, in quarantine during the pandemic. ‘Laughter’ is awarded to the overall funniest laugh-out-loud video.
Thanks to Adrift’s incredible sponsors, the top 20 submissions in the reel will receive a $50 (c. 43€) gift certificate to B&H and a chance to win some of the incredible prizes available this year such as a drone, stand up paddleboard and cash travel vouchers. Updates about the event and prizes will be posted on Adrift’s Instagram
