Amels Limited Editions 180 Galene on sea trials

The 55-metre (180-foot) Amels yacht Galene has been snapped on sea trials after launching in March.

The yacht is the latest hull in Amels’ Limited Editions 180 series and is named after the Ancient greek word meaning ‘serenity, tranquillity, calmness’.

Sold in January 2019, Galene is the 25^th hull in the Limited Editions series. Designed by Tim Heywood, she features ‘calm’ and ‘subtly art-deco’ interiors by Laura Sessa and accommodates up to 12 guests across five cabins. An extended version of the 177 model, Galene offers an enlarged sundeck, which is now 25 metres long and contains 155 square metres of relaxation space.

Elouise Reiff, project manager, said, “The team did the name Galene justice. I am very proud of the hard work done by everyone involved. Through their efforts the launch went smoothly and according to plan.”

Rutger Dolk, from the Amels sales team, noted, “The owner will be exploring many destinations around the world. He was looking for a yacht that was built to travel the world.”

Galene is going to be made available for charter in the Mediterranean over the coming months and the Caribbean later in the year with Y.CO.
