The Amels Dutch shipyard announced last week the reported sale of a new 55m Amels 180 Limited Editions superyacht, which will offer exterior styling from Tim Heywood and in-house construction by Amels.
Thanks to the decreased waiting time behind the Amels Limited Editions superyacht range, the new hull is expected for delivery to her new owner in less than two years, in spring 2017. Gary Wright and Will Christie of Y.CO yacht brokers represented the buyer in this sale.
Highlights of the new 180 include an owner’s suite with folding balcony, and port and starboard folding bulwarks to the main saloon to enhance the desired feeling of inside-outside living on board.
At 25 metres LOA, and covering 155 square metres in total, the large top deck of Amels 180 can make a claim to having one of the largest sun decks of any current 55m superyacht.
Rob Luijendijk, managing director of Amels said, “The continuing success of the Amels 180 and the whole 55 to 83-metre Limited Editions range has really continued unabated.
“We’re seeing strong interest in our offer from the Middle East, Latin America and renewed interest from Russia. Exchange rates have played a role with our clients in the US, but we believe the key to our success is our commitment to continuously improve, listen to owner feedback and strive for perfection.”
The Amels Limited Editions range was first unveiled to the industry at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2005, and has since seen more than 20 Limited Editions yachts added to its range. Now, 10 years later, the sixth hull will be introduced to the family, again at the Monaco Yacht Show, this year.
