Amico & Co receives Authorised Economic Operator certification

Amico&Co superyacht refit shipyard in Genoa has received Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status from the Italian Central Customs Agency – the first shipyard in Italy to achieve the certification.

AEO status is an internationally recognised quality mark, indicating that a company has a safe and trustworthy role in the international supply chain, and that its customs controls and procedures are efficient and compliant, assuring the security of data and goods.

According to Amico&Co, its shipyard has been classified as an AEOF or Authorised Economic Operator – Full. This includes both AEOC and AEOS certification.

AEOC status is issued to those businesses that fulfil criteria for good tax and customs-compliance history, record-keeping standards, financial solvency and professional qualifications in the activity that they are involved in, while AEOS status regards businesses that have implemented appropriate safety and security measures.

The superyacht refit centre has one of the highest global turnovers of shipyards that deal exclusively in superyacht refit. On-site, it has four dry docks up to 170m LOA, including two 102m and 90m sheltered graving docks with 31m-air draft, 12 on-hard covered refit and repair areas, and two 320t and 835t travel lifts. It also has comprehensive crew facilities.

Newly built inside the yard is a keel pit for sailing and racing yachts with mobile keels.
