Nautor’s Swan announces sale of 36m Swan 120

Finnish yard Nautor’s Swan has confirmed the sale of its first 36.5-metre (120-foot) Swan 120, with construction work on the sloop already underway.

Nautor’s Swan shared the news at Boot Düsseldorf last week, where it also announced six other new models were currently being engineered at the yard – including a Swan 48, Swan 65, Swan 98, ClubSwan 36 and ClubSwan 125. It has forecast for 20 yachts to be delivered in 2019, up on the 11 yachts that were delivered in 2018.

Naval architecture and exterior design aboard Swan 120 comes from long-time designer German Frers, while her interior design has been overseen by Misa Poggi.

According to the yard, the Swan 120 is “defining the next generation of performance superyacht design”, with an array of design and spec features underlining this belief.

She has a concealed, electronically controlled bimini top and sprayhood with ‘aisle seats’ on deck, while what is known as a “snug” area is an important space on board that is situated between the helming stations.

The transom is multi-purpose; it can transform into a large teak-decked swim platform with a garage capable of housing a 4.5-metre tender and other water toys – and once a tender has been launched, it can also triple up as an ideal place for sunbathing or al-fresco dining.

Misa Poggi was tasked with creating two interior configurations: one with the owner’s cabin aft and a second with the owner’s cabin forward. Both of these layouts boast an additional three guest en-suite cabins, as well as a trio of twin crew cabins with private bathrooms that allow for up to six members of staff.

In both configurations, the laundry and galley are positioned beside the crew quarters. Throughout the interior, Poggi has used a range of Italian textiles and leathers to create “the ultimate ambience in comfort and luxury”.

Peter Naeye, product line leader, said, “Nautor’s Swan is also about performance. We like to race and be competitive and although we have Club Swan, Maxi Swan should also be fast. It has everything you need to be competitive on the racing scene. Club Swan is about racing and the Maxi Swan is about cruising.”

Naeye has revealed that the base price of the new Swan 120 would be €16 million.
