Award-winning NED joins ICM Group as non-executive chair

ICM Group’s board of directors has announced the appointment of a high profile non-executive chair, Jo Haigh as of January this year.

Winner of the 2013 Sunday Times Non-Executive Director of the Year award, Jo Haigh is a highly experienced businesswoman and a regular presenter for the Institute of Directors.

Jo Haign said, “Over the years I have been very fortunate to hold a number of prestigious roles as non-executive director, this is my second chair position and was flattered to be asked to join ICM for whom I have massive respect. I most enjoy working with growing and ambitious businesses and ICM is no exception.”

Mark Byrne, director of ICM Group explained why the time was right to make the appointment, “Even with the economic turbulence encountered since 2008 we have enjoyed continuous growth and, with confidence returning, we believe that our expansion will continue. Although growth is always welcome, it inevitably comes with increased complexity and new challenges.

“Our clients and our staff have always been at the heart of what we do and we want to make sure it remains that way. We feel that we have reached the next stage of the company's development and recognise that we need to enhance our ability to think strategically whilst remaining focussed.

“With size comes greater responsibility and sound corporate governance will give us the necessary discipline to ensure our decision making is based on rigorous analysis and excellent risk management.

“Jo's background and experience will considerably enhance our Board and her independence as a non-executive will ensure that our assumptions are tested and our actions are timely and appropriate.

“We were overjoyed when Jo accepted our invitation and we look forward to working with her. We have found a world-class entrepreneur who will make a huge difference to how we run and expand our business.”

This new appointment comes as the ICM Group celebrates its 30th anniversary and prepares for a big move to new headquarters in Douglas.
