Baltic Yachts launches three yachts in ten days

Finnish yard Baltic Yachts has launched three large yachts in just ten days, following an intense two and a half year build schedule at its Jakobstad yard in Finland.

Professor Hans Georg Nader, Baltic Yachts’ owner, attended a special celebratory event to mark the launchings of the yachts, during which he praised the dedication, skill and experience of the Baltic Yachts boat builders.

“These attributes lie at the heart of this achievement,” he commented, honouring the great level of skill inbuilt in the Baltic family, passed down through generations of craftsmen. “This is one of the company’s greatest assets,” he added.

Celebrating the three launchings amongst the 250-strong Baltic family, Henry Hawkins, chief executive officer, said, “Thousands of hours of intense work has resulted in these three world class yachts we see before us today.”

Baltic’s latest three vessels include Baltic 67PC Lurgina, Baltic 112 Liara and Baltic 142 Canova.

Baltic 67PC Lurgina was the first out of the three yachts to hit the water. The second hull of the new semi custom Baltic 67 Performance Cruiser platform, Lurgina’s naval architecture was designed by Judel/Vrolijk & Co to present a stylish, easy to sail, fast family cruising yacht. Meanwhile her luxury interior is a result of Design Unlimited.

Second to hit the water, Baltic 112 Liara is designed predominantly as a comfortable family cruising yacht, with the ability to sail long distances at pace. Designed by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design, Liara’s deck saloon and cockpit consist of a removable solid bimini enabling al fresco living. While Adam Lay Studio styled her interior, which features sliding glass doors lead into a splendid study.

The third out of the three new yachts to launch was Baltic 142 Canova. Canova’s innovative design includes a Dynamic Stability System (DSS) foil to hydro-generation system and electric propulsion. Baltic Yachts teamed up with Farr Yacht Design to produce her naval architecture, whilst Lucio Micheletti designed the yacht’s interior and exterior and Gurit is responsible for her composite engineering. Canova is designed to reduce heel, increase speed and improve comfort by reducing pitching.

Baltic Yachts’ latest new build, Baltic 146 Custom, is well underway and is scheduled to be launched in 2021.
