Benetti has announced that the first three hulls in its Mediterraneo 116 superyacht series are currently under construction.
The Italian yacht builder revealed that the series is “very much connected to the roots of the displacement class, while opening the door to a new era.”
Notable design features on board the Mediterraneo 116 include a six-metre wide cockpit which features three-metre crystal doors that open in to the main saloon. There is then a dining area designed for entertaining up to 12 guests.
Accommodation on board includes four twin cabins with two VIPs and two twins with en-suites. The exterior space includes a sun deck and swimming pool on the foredeck, however the latter area is able to be customised to suit the owner, according to Benetti.
In terms of power, the displacement hull is to be fitted with twin MANV12 engines, able to achieve a top speed of 15 knots, and a cruising range of 3,000nm.
The first Mediterraneo 116 will be exhibited at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
