Benetti delivers 35m Mediterraneao 116’ Mr Loui

Benetti has announced the delivery of the second model of its Mediterraneo 116’ Classic series of semi-custom, medium size superyachts to a Mexican owner.

Measuring in at 35.5 metres and made of fibreglass and carbon fibre, the 116’ has been christened Mr Loui by her new owner, who requested more outdoor social space. As such, the second 116’ features a sundeck of over 80 square metres, with two dining areas, a lounging and sunbathing area.

Mr Loui has sleek exteriors penned by Benetti’s long-standing partner Giorgio Maria Cassetta, and in-house interior design styled in collaboration with the owner’s architect Ezequiel Farca.

Inside, natural light floods the lounging and dining areas through her three-metre long windows, and is reflected off large glazed surfaces. According to Benetti, these give a sense of continuity with the world outside. There is also a lift for four people for ease of movement and increased accessibility between the three decks on board.

Her accommodation hosts up to 12 guests across five cabins, including a full-beam master suite with panoramic windows on the main deck, and two facing VIP cabins and two guest cabins with additional pullman beds on the lower deck. She also houses a crew of up to seven members. 

Mr Loui is powered by twin CAT ACER C32 Rating D engines, each delivering 1,600hp. This gives her a top speed of 15 knots, and a cruising speed of 14 knots, while the yacht’s range is 3,000nm at 10 knots.

Benetti has now sold four boats in its Mediterraneo 116’ line, the first of which was delivered in 2016 and named Oli.
