Benetti launches 49m Project Zafiro and names her Elaldrea+

Italian yard Benetti has launched 49-metre (161-foot) custom yacht Project Zafiro for a repeat client, and named her Elaldrea+.

Horacio Bozzo Design collaborated with the Benetti Style Department to create her exterior lines and interior layout, opting to implement a contemporary yet minimalistic design for the owner.

In a statement, Bozzo said, “The minimalism and purity of the lines are the heart and soul of this project, in which the demand for functionality embraces the design.”

Among the main features of Elaldrea+ is her spacious flybridge, which stretches across 115 square metres, contains a four-metre pool and offers plentiful room for dining and lounging, while her beach club includes a dedicated sauna area.

Built to LY3 and RINA standards from a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, accommodation on board is for up to 12 guests and 10 crewmembers. The 60-metres-squared owner’s cabin boasts a fully automatic sliding balcony, ‘his and hers’ bathrooms, a private office and two walk-in wardrobes, all of which offers open views and plenty of natural light.

The interior décor contrasts Canaletto walnut and Tanganyika woodwork and stainless-steel inserts with silk, velvet and five different types of marble, while the furnishings were chosen from the likes of Patrona Frau, Giorgetti, Softhouse and Arketipo.

The main garage can house a 6.3-metre tender with a 3.4-metre crew tender stored in the foredeck bay.

Powered by a pair of MTU V12 engines, Elaldrea+ has a top speed of 14.5 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, drawing on a total fuel capacity of 60,000 litres. Naiad stabilisers should make for a comfortable cruising experience in all conditions.

Other projects currently under development at the Italian yard include the 69m (226ft) FB269, which is expected to launch later this year.
