Benetti undergoes management reshuffle

Italian yard Benetti has appointed Sebastiano Fanizza as chief commercial officer as it implements a managerial reshuffle.

Fanizza joins the company following three years as commercial and business development director at Nautor’s Swan. He will undertake responsibility for the company’s commercial strategy, as well as oversee brand and development initiatives. Fanizza will report directly to recently appointed chief executive Franco Fusignani.

Benetti says his appointment will help “consolidate the presence of the Azimut-Benetti Group on strategic foreign markets.”

The new sales structure at the yard will also see Roberto Corno step into the role of vice president of sales covering the CIS and Eastern Europe. Meanwhile Nick Bischoff has joined as Benetti country manager for the Americas. He previously held the position of president at Endeavor Yacht Consultants.

The management reshuffle was devised after the chief executive of Benetti’s Business Line division, Vincenzo Poerio, resigned his position in September. He was replaced by Franco Fusignani.
