Berthon announces new superyacht tender service

Lymington-based shipyard Berthon, has announced a new tender service for the superyacht market.

In a statement, Berthon said, “The first aspect of the superyacht that the owner and guests experience, so it must look pristine and be in 100% working order.” Its new end-to-end service will take on all work required to keep the tender in optimum condition, with transportation of the tender to its in-house teams at Lymington from anywhere in the world.

According to Berthon, the new service will include the refit, repair, maintenance and servicing of tenders, limousines, RIBs and jet-skis. Yachts will be booked in either as part of a programme, emergency repairs or as last minute pit-stops, and Berthon will have a range of dedicated tender support areas on-site. These include paint and finishing facilities, clean sheds, lineside stores and workshops that enable easy access to tools and machinery. Customers will also be assigned a dedicated project manager as the primary point of contact throughout the refit process.

Berthon director Dominic May commented, “We’re in a great position to be able to carry out this work. We have a huge depth of experience managing both complex projects and logistics, and we can ensure that tenders benefit from our high-quality workmanship when they’re with us.

“We undertake and complete all work in-house. Our highly skilled workforce has a diverse range of marine trade skills including engineering, welding, electrical and electronics, GRP and epoxy composite repairs, and spray painting. We’re able to work continuously and as a result, we’re able to realise quick project turnaround times.”

Berthon will also design and implement modifications and customisations, including speed optimisation and re-engining. Examples of the yard’s most recent work include the refit of a Riva, and more extensive work on a 6m Pascoe RIB.
