B&G Brings its Navigation Systems to ‘World’s Largest Sailing Event’

This year’s Kiel Week 2012 promises to confirm its status as the world’s largest sailing event when it takes place between 16^th to 24^th June.

 

More than 5,000 yachtsmen from around the world are expected to descend upon Kiel, the capital city in the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein.

 

B&G, a world leader in superyacht navigation systems, autopilots and tactical software, has now been confirmed as the official equipment supplier and partner for the event.

 

As part of the arrangement, B&G will equip all race officers and mark boats with its Very High Frequency (VHF) radios and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).

 

B&G will also hold an exclusive Owners’ Night at the VIP Lounge of the regatta site for all its customers. Guests will have the opportunity to share their experiences and stories.

 

“Our partnership with Kiel Week will ensure better on-the-water communication and smoother race procedures,” said Jobst Richter, Chief Race Officer of Kiel Week.

 

“Additionally the GPS equipment will help to set the race marks at exact positions.”

 

B&G’s service team will be positioned in a tent next to the marina in Kiel-Schilksee. The company’s representatives will be on-hand to help those interested get information about its latest marine electronic developments.

 

Competing sailors at Kiel Week 2012 will also be able to ask for assistance from B&G’s team if they have any questions, or any equipment or service needs. The team will also run a service hotline for sailors taking part in the races.
