British tender specialist designs luxury landing craft tender

British tender specialist Cockwells, has unveiled designs for its new custom vessel, a 14.5m luxury landing craft.

The new tender features a 3.4m beam, and was designed by the yard’s in-house team. Notable features include two helm seats in its aft console layout, and an enclosed heads compartment.

When empty, the tender can fit a number of vehicles, including a luxury car, motorcycles or ATVs, using its hydraulic bow ramp to maintain stability during loading. Dave Cockwell, founder and managing director of Cockwells explained that the design “utilises every inch of space, including bow storage for the anchor and fenders, and incorporates a wealth of features that make it highly desirable and a joy to handle.”

The tender is able to seat up to 12 guests, with the seating rising up from the landing craft’s deck using electric struts; a folding carbon fibre bimini also allows the area to be completely shaded when necessary.

The tender is powered by two 260hp Yanmar 6BY3 engines, allowing a top speed of 35 knots when empty, and 20 knots when full to capacity.
