Burgess set to showcase billion-dollar inventory at yacht shows

The yachting calendar highlights of the Monaco Yacht Show (24th – 27th September) and the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (30th October – 3rd November) will soon be upon us, and Burgess is gearing up to showcase an impressive line-up of superyachts across the two events with a combined value of over US$1 billion.

Considered by many as the ultimate event to view the latest and greatest superyachts in the world, the Monaco Yacht Show promises to provide a wealth of options for those on the lookout for their next yacht purchase or charter. Burgess will be leading the way in terms of choice, presenting over 10% of the vessels on display, the most of any brokerage company, and also offering access to every yacht at the show.

The Burgess line-up will be composed of over 1,000 metres (nearly 3,300 feet) of superyachts at the Monaco Yacht Show itself, with an average vessel length of over 53 metres, including 11 vessels in Port Hercule and nearly 20 at anchor, for which there will be a private tender service provided by Wahoo. Additionally, by virtue of a long-term partnership with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, VIP guests of Burgess will be provided with Rolls-Royce courtesy cars to conveniently transport them to and from the show in complete comfort.

Yachts for sale at the Monaco Yacht Show will include the sumptuous and voluminous Tim Heywood-designed CAKEWALK; the award-winning Royal Huisman ketch TWIZZLE; the striking BATON ROUGE built by Icon Yachts; and a host of motor and sailing yachts ranging in length from 40 metres to over 85 metres.

Also presented by their respective shipyards in Monaco will be two phenomenal yachts from the Burgess charter fleet: the brand new 73 metre GRACE E by Picchiotti/Perini Navi and the magnificent 66 metre INVICTUS by Delta Marine, with inspections offered by the team of Burgess charter brokers on hand at the show.

As the largest in-the-water display of yachts in the world, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show offers visitors an opportunity to see the most impressive selection of superyachts in US waters. Burgess will be presenting a collection of vessels valued at close to a quarter of a billion dollars at the show, from the adventurous 39.6 metres MEA CULPA offered for sale to the beautifully refitted 56.4 metre M/Y SEANNA offered for charter. The full list will be announced next month.

In the period from April to June 2014, Burgess enjoyed its strongest performing sales quarter since the global financial crisis. Twenty three deals were concluded, including one week with a significant superyacht sold each day. Despite this upturn in the brokerage market, major price increases have yet to be observed and trading conditions remain uncertain, not least due to various geo-political instabilities around the world.

With the upturn in the brokerage market, the outlook for shipyards has also brightened with build slots gradually being filled and delivery times now extending as far as 2018 and beyond. Burgess Technical Services continues to operate at maximum output and has recently signed a number of substantial new build projects.
