CESG Ltd achieves ISO Quality Management Systems certification

CESG Ltd, a leading provider of offshore crew management services, has announced that it has been awarded certification to the new International Standard Award (ISO 9001:2015) in Quality Management Systems. 

First launched in September 2015, according to the business, CESG Ltd is amongst the first few companies to have attained the new ISO certification. 

Sarah-Jane, quality manager (QM) at CESG commented, “We are so pleased to have been certified to the new standard. Everyone has been involved in preparation for CESG’s January audit and the changes we have made to our Quality Management System. Responsibilities are now shared amongst all of us to make our processes as effective as possible.

“The update to the ISO 9001:2015 standard has led to increased emphasis and integration to our process approach. CESG has always believed in a team approach that meets with the new requirement of spreading responsibilities and encouraging involvement at all levels in key processes. In establishing and monitoring performance of the processes for which they are responsible, all staff are encouraged to consider the risks and opportunities that arise from that process, for example if we don’t follow this process exactly what will be the implication for the client? The new standard also removes the specific requirement for a dedicated quality manager, so as to ensure that management take on board responsibility for their own departments processes and the system as a whole.” 

In light of the certification, Neil Carrington, managing director of CESG Ltd added, “We shall be retaining Sarah-Jane, our QM, to continue to additionally support the effective operation of our QMS through review and monitoring of our services.

“Our DNV GL auditor commented in the audit report that ‘there is clear evidence of management leadership and commitment to the QMS and its continual improvement’, also stating that a ‘positive indication’ was of the staff’s ‘involvement and application of system requirements’.”
