China’s first Beach Polo World Cup set to boost country’s yachting industry

From 3^rd to 6^th July 2014, China Rendez-Vous will combine the marine lifestyle and the ‘king of sports’ by bringing Beach Polo to the shores of Dalian for the first time ever.

Teaming up with the world-renowned experts from The Polo Life, creators of the Miami Beach Polo tournament, the four-day event aims to offer visitors an amazing combination of polo as well as the yachting lifestyle experience, with a large-scale yacht display near the tournament. 

By offering Beach Polo and a wide range of sea-related activities, this event is dedicated to boost Dalian as both a yachting destination and an attractive costal city.

As the highest-rated and longest running beach polo tournament in the world, this addition is sure to be a convivial and an even more exciting experience of the polo game while highlighting the passion, speed and mastery of some of the world’s best polo players. China Rendez-Vous Ltd. will be bringing the action to the audience, right up to the front-lines on the sand.  

The very first Beach Polo World Cup in China comes in the timely year of the horse. Polo continues, as it has done for so long, to represent the pinnacle of sport and a reaffirmation of the special bond between horse and rider. 

Some lesser-known Polo history is that it originated in China and Persia about 2,000 years ago. The horse-riding sport went on to become a wildly popular trend among China’s elite of the Tang dynasty. Also used as a training game for elite cavalry units, polo remains to be known as the Game of Kings.
