Cogs4Cancer day three: Empoli to La Spezia

The third day of the superyacht charity cycle ride, Cogs4Cancer, saw the seventeen cyclists, including Yachting Pages’ MD Steve Crowe, cycle the 169km from Empoli to La Spezia.

The third stage was sponsored by Lusben, who kitted the team out in new cycling gear for the day. The route took the cyclists through Livorno, where they stopped off at Lusben’s refit and repair facility for a tour and lunch break.

The afternoon took us along the Versilia Coast and past superyacht shipyards Benetti, Perini Navi and Sanlorenzo, through Pisa and Viareggio, before finishing after 7hrs 19 minutes of riding in La Spezia.

After cycling a final 40km, the Cogs 4 Cancer team arrived in the home of Italy’s largest naval base, La Spezia for a well-earned rest. 

Currently at €182,894 of their €200,000 target, the riders have a further 380km to cover over the next four days.
