Damen launches 46m support vessel Joy Rider

Dutch yard Damen has launched its 45.6-metre (150-foot) yacht Joy Rider, the first hull in its new support vessel fleet.

Joy Rider has been constructed specifically for an owner who appreciates adventure and wildlife.

The steel and aluminium yacht features exterior and interior styling by Damen’s in-house design team, creating a ‘fun and flexible’ configuration. She has a beam of 8.3 metres and a gross tonnage of 315, as well as 120 square metres of deck space.

The yacht can accommodate up to six guests across three double cabins, along with seven crew members.

Joy Rider boasts a sizable main deck lounge and a touch-and-go helipad. She can house various high-end toys, submarines and tenders, and comes complete with a 6.7-tonne deck crane.

Two Caterpillar C32 TTA engines provide the power for a top speed of 16.5 knots and range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Joy Rider is scheduled to be delivered in September ahead of the Monaco Yacht Show, where she will make her debut.
