Superyacht interior design and exterior styling studio Design Unlimited, recently announced that they together, received a total of three coveted Neptune trophies at last weekend’s World Superyacht Awards 2015.
The 33-metre performance sailing yacht WinWin has been honoured with the prominent overall ‘Sailing Superyacht of the Year’ award as well as the same award for the sailing yacht 30 to 50 metre category. According to the judges, they recognised her balance of performance, style and comfort. WinWin had previously received the interior design award for sailing yachts in the 30 to 40-metre category at the Showboats Design Awards 2015.
Design Unlimited created an interior for both cruising and racing situations. The features include retracting glass windows between the deck saloon and cockpit that create a single expanse of living space at the touch of a button, as well as owner’s accommodation which includes a full-beam owner’s stateroom forward linked to a study / saloon stretching aft along the port side. The décor mixes up soft tones and natural finishes to deliver a clean, elegant look.
Design Unlimited also celebrated the success of the classic 65m superyacht Shemara, which received a special prize in the rebuild category. She was re-launched in May 2014, following a three-year refit. Mark Tucker and his team spent over 6,000 hours on the detailed redesign of both the interior and exterior styling and the full interior layout. The exterior work included detailed designs for almost all the features and equipment; ranging from the funnels and the plunge pool down to the stanchions and biminis.
Mark Tucker from Design Unlimited commented, “We’re delighted that these two exceptional projects received the recognition that they deserve. We were fortunate enough to work with experienced owners who had clear visions for their yachts and the will to create something that would be truly distinctive. While very different from each other, we are certain that the boats will give a great deal of pleasure for years to come.”
