Swedish firm Dometic, which specialises in air conditioning, sanitation, refrigeration, galley equipment and watermakers, has won a contract with Sunseeker to become the international brand’s exclusive supplier of superyacht air conditioning equipment.
Dometic will now supply the UK-based shipyard’s newly built 15.2- to 40-metre (50- to 131-foot) yachts. It already supplies equipment to a wide range of OEMs in over 100 nations, and has sites in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
Steve Morris, Dometic director of marine sales and engineering, called the new deal with Sunseeker “a significant endorsement for our technology leadership in air conditioning systems and installations”.
Dometic and Sunseeker will work together to design systems for forthcoming projects. The former already supplies three different systems suited to the size and configuration of the vessel – including the self-contained direct expansion system, the split-gas direct expansion system and high-capacity chilled water systems.
The company also provides significant after-sales services via its network of skilled engineers and dealers.
