The second day of Dubai International Boat Show showcases the latest in marine craft technologies, with some of the most interesting and cutting-edge vessels and products from around the globe.

The DeepFlight Black Hawk: The world’s first sport submersible

Hawkes Ocean Technologies has premiered its next generation DeepFlight Hydrobatic Craft at this year’s Dubai International Boat Show. The two models, The DeepFlight Black Hawk, for solo pilots and the next generation 2-seater DeepFlight Super Falcon Mark II provides an underwater flight experience for the recreational and private owner market. Small numbers of the innovative underwater high performance craft will be available for preorders for the 2014-2015 run of models at the Dubai International Boat Show.

Wider 42: A new concept for life on board

The unique Wider 42 yacht features a solution to the problem of a shortage of space on board. Widening out by means of extensions on either side of the hull, doubling the usable surface and significantly increasing the yacht’s stability. The mobile extensions are opened and closed by an automatic, electronically controlled system and takes just 12 seconds to complete.

Quadski: 45mph on water… and land

The Quadski, the world’s first high-speed amphibian (HSA) personal watercraft, is a combination of between a quad bike and a jet ski, and is touted as the next big superyacht toy. The Quadski is able to reach speeds of 45mph on both water and land, and powered by GIBBS breakthrough technology, transitions between them in seconds. At the push of a button, the Quadski’s wheels deploy when approaching land and retract after entering water. Previously, no commercial amphibian has been able to exceed 10mph on water.

Iguana 29: No more anchoring

The Iguana 29 has no need for marina berths and trailers with its onshore drive system, which is deployed in seconds. The amphibious boat is capable of climbing an 11-degree slope and can reach 7km/h on land. At sea, the Iguana can reach high cruising speeds of over 35 knots.
