Established to provide reputable yacht support services for yacht owners, guests and crew, the organisation currently has 71 agents worldwide that must subscribe to, and fully comply with, the AYSS Code of Ethics and Conduct.
According to Erika’s, all AYSS members “strive to work in the spirit of fairness with clients, who are entitled to an honest and transparent business relation with an AYSS office”. Members are therefore devoted to high professional ethics, integrity and courtesy.
Heather Grant, owner and founder of Erika’s Yacht Agents explained, “Erika’s became a member of AYSS in 2016, drawn by the international association’s policies of business transparency, which mean clear and accurate information, coupled with concise and easy-to-understand quotations and accounting for its clients.
“With our agency based in a remote Caribbean location, we have appreciated feeling a part of a like-minded group that offers support to its members and certainly benefitted from the AYSS network of agency contacts around the world.
“To us, the Association of Yacht Support Services (AYSS) is a worldwide, self-governing body that lifts the otherwise mostly unregulated industry of yacht agents to a transparent and more professional level. Our membership is important to us, as potential members, having been invited to join by the board, are strictly vetted before being accepted, with a minimum of two years in business and three sets of recommendations from captains, industry professionals and fellow AYSS members. These are updated every five years approximately for on-going peace of mind.”
