FarSounder, a leading provider of sonar systems for the maritime industry, has announced the opening of its new acoustic test tank facility at its headquarters in Warwick, Rhode Island, USA.
This new facility was custom designed and built specifically for FarSounder's purposes. The acoustic tank will be used primarily for production testing and calibration of FarSounder's sonar systems. It will also be available for FarSounder's research and development projects.
Matthew Zimmerman, vice president of engineering at FarSounder commented, "Our new acoustic test tank is deeper and larger than our previous test tank. This means that it is suitable for all of our production measurements. In addition, we will be able to use it for many research and development tasks that were limited by the size of our previous tank. Having the tank in the same building as our headquarters greatly increases our production efficiency."
FarSounder's new test tank facility will also be available for rental on a limited basis. More information about the design and construction of the new tank can be found in the FarSounder Tech Blog.
