Feadship launches superyacht Aquarius

Feadship has announced the successful launch of its 92m motor yacht Aquarius in a private ceremony at its yard in Aalsmeer, Netherlands on Saturday 3rd September.

A full custom Feadship, Aquarius has been created on behalf of, and in partnership with a highly experienced owner, and features a contemporary exterior design with many archetypal Feadship elements, including a conventional bow and raked superstructure.

Her profile comes from Dutch company Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design, who also worked on the interior design together with the owner’s design team and Feadship's De Voogt Naval Architects.

Hank de Vries, CEO of Feadship shared that the client has owned previous vessels including 50 and 60m superyachts. He said, “Having enjoyed time on yachts from renowned yards, the owner of Aquarius recognised that the only way to move up to the highest possible standard was to come to Feadship.

“We have been in regular contact for several years before the owner concluded that, in order to create the truly fantastic yacht he envisaged, he simply had to commission an entirely bespoke Feadship. The client is a fiercely competitive player in the hospitality business and a highly ambitious in terms of his personal possessions. It has been a pleasure to work with him on this phenomenal project.”

The owner added, “We dedicated two years of intense design work on Aquarius. As a result, she represents a perfect marriage of interior and exterior, and seamless integration with the sea. I am convinced that Aquarius will become a future benchmark for global superyacht excellence.”

Aquarius is branded to be “one of the brightest Feadships launched to date”, as she offers a large amount of light in her ceilings and her comprehensive and energy-conscious LED lighting systems, combined with a great amount of glass in her superstructure.

The owner is an avid art lover, so Aquarius has the space to display pieces from his personal collection. She reflects the client’s expertise in hospitality and the high-end hotel sector, with the optimised infrastructure of her galleys, pantries and crew service areas.

Staterooms and suites are arranged in a way that makes the most of the owner’s understanding of luxury accommodation, showcasing the yacht’s “meticulous attention to detail and perfect dimensions and scale”, within an “intuitive and supremely user-friendly layout.”

On board she houses 12 guests across six staterooms, plus the owner’s in a stateroom on the owner’s deck, equipped with separate his and hers bathrooms, massage room, media room and private balcony. She is supported by a team of 31 crewmembers who are accommodated in 14 crew cabins.

In a recent press release, Feadship shared that they are confident that Aquarius will be the quietest Feadship to date once sea trials get underway. She is powered by three Caterpillar C32 generators and twin MTU 16V 4000M63L 2240kW engines, giving her a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 17 knots.
