Italian yard Ferretti Group has chosen Venice as the host city for Ferretti Yachts’ 50th anniversary celebrations, scheduled to take place at Piazza San Marco and the Arsenale between the 22nd and 24th June.
The exclusive three-day event is dedicated to art, entertainment and Italian culture, and will bring together Ferretti Yacht owners from around the world.
The celebrations will begin with a gala dinner at Palazzo Ducale on Friday 22nd, in front of Tintoretto’s famous ‘Paradise’ – the largest canvas in the world. Then, from the ogival windows of Palazzo Ducale, which have been donated by the City of Venice for the occasions, guests will attend a parade of the entire Ferretti Yachts fleet on the waters of the San Marco Basin.
Later in the evening, guests will be treated to an aerobatic demonstration from the Italian Aeronautica Militare (known as Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale), who will fly over the Piazza San Marco.
Thanks to the participation of the Navy, the Venice Arsenal will host 11 yachts up to 29 metres (96 feet) in length, including the world premiere of Ferretti Yachts 670, which will be moored within the Darsena Nuovissima.
The Venice Arsenal will also be the scene of the second evening of the celebrations – guests will attend a dinner made by Cipriani, and the concert of a renowned Italian artist.
In a release, Alberto Galassi, CEO of Ferretti Group, commented, “When we thought about the celebrations for our brand that gives the name to our group, we wanted something unique and never seen before. With the overflight of Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale, the fantastic places generously offered by the city of Venice and the scheduled events, we will celebrate as best we could the 50th anniversary of Ferretti Yachts and of our Group, a big Italian company whose products are made in Italy in seven construction sites that employ over 1,600 people.
“I’d like to thank the city of Venice and its mayor, the chief of staff of the Italian Air Force, the Italian Navy and all those who have made the Ferretti Yachts great in these first 50 years of history and which are going to make this event unrepeatable, showing to the world the excellence that our country is able to express.”
Luigi Brugnaro, mayor of Venice, added, "I’d like to thank Alberto Galassi for having chosen our city and to welcome to Venice the whole Ferretti Group, their clients and all the nautical lovers to the 50-year celebration of a global leader in the construction and marketing of yachts and luxury boats and flagship of made in Italy.”
