Italian yacht builder Ferretti Group has unveiled the latest generation Pershing 8X at the Boot Dusseldorf boat show.
A collaboration between designer Fulvio De Simoni, the Ferretti Group product strategy committee, led by Piero Ferrari, and the group’s engineering department has resulted in the refurbished Pershing 8X.
A “true evolution” on the Pershing 82, featuring “lines that are even sleeker and sportier” the yard commented on the 25.55-metre (84-foot) carbon fibre model.
Stefano de Vivo, chief operating officer of Ferretti Group, described her “imposing side wings” as “wings of a new Pershing era”. Meanwhile, its sundeck flaunts an “aerodynamic profile”.
The yard also commented on how the yacht’s “black painted steel steps covered in teak and framed by carbon fibre” are a key “distinctive and characterising innovation” of the new model.
The yacht’s music hull, developed by the Ferretti Group engineering department in collaboration with tech company Videoworks, is another distinctive attribute.
Offering music to underwater swim and dive sessions, the new technology boasts a high definition loudspeaker built within the vessel. Owner and guests can control the music using smartphones and tablets.
The 15-metre (49-foot) square sundeck presents a sun pad and sofa, creating an ideal spot for relaxation. Leading on from the aft swimming platform is the expansive tender garage.
The main deck is split into three divisions; the lounge, the dining area and the helm station.
Four double cabins on the lower deck provide space for up to eight guests; these include a full-beam master, a foredeck VIP cabin and two double guest cabins.
The crew area offers one single and one double cabin, catering for three staff members.
Two MTU 16V 2000 M96 2435hp engines provide power for an impressive top speed of 45 knots and cruising speed of 38 knots.
The twin 2638 hp MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, which feature on the first unit of the series, are also available to install as a second propulsion system. The engines provide a speed exceeding 48 knots and a cruising speed of 41 knots.
