First Hatteras 90 under construction

US yacht builder Hatteras Yachts has announced at this week’s Yachts Miami Beach that its first Hatteras 90 motoryacht is currently under construction.

Due to launch this summer, Hatteras presented the 28m yacht to visitors in an immersive virtual reality presentation. The 90m motoryacht will be available in open and enclosed flybridge versions, and will feature a resin-infused fibreglass construction technology, ensuring a good hull strength-to-weight ratio.

The new vessel will also feature a fuel tank which is integral to the hull rather than enclosed in a box; this will offer greater fuel storage and weight savings.

The design will be similar to that of the 100 Raised Pilothouse and 70 Hatteras motoryachts. She has a flush main deck with flexible interior arrangement; her galley and casual seating and dining area is currently located forward, however the galley can be moved amidships and the dining table aft, in order to create a saloon forward. The galley will also feature a dimmable glass skylight, measuring five metres by three.

Accommodation is situated on the lower deck, with room for eight guests across four staterooms, all with en suites. The crew quarters are then located aft of the engine room and feature a captain’s cabin, crew bunkroom, as well as a shared head and galley/lounge.

On deck, the 90 has a large settee and dining table located aft deck, with a cocktail table, large sun pad and additional settee on the foredeck.

Hatteras announced plans to debut the first 90 motoryacht at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
