Free event for yacht crew in Palma de Mallorca

On Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th November, the PYA in association with ACREW and HR Crew will be hosting a series events that will give yacht crew the chance to learn, network, job-seek and have fun.

ACREW’s popular workshops give crew the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge to be able to enhance their careers. The PYA takes a keen interest in crew continuing to further themselves professionally and has worked with ACREW to endorse these workshops.

Crew will be able to have their attendance at the PYA-endorsed workshops recorded in their ‘PYA crew work book’, which can be presented to potential employers in conjunction with their CV, and shows that they have taken the time to invest in their own professional development.

The PYA crew work book also includes a record of time spent at sea and certificates. The ACREW events are free to attend, and attending crew will be able to enjoy a free lunch and evening drinks.

Crew seeking employment can also visit the HR Crew Careers fair, also supported by the PYA, which is taking place at the Hotel Melia Atenea “Pluton Meeting Room”, on Friday 4th November.

Two sessions will take place; the first will be from 10am until 1pm, and from 2pm until 5pm. HR Crew’s team of recruitment experts will be on hand to talk to job-seeking crew about career advice, job opportunities, CV guidance and more.

After two days of learning, networking and job-seeking, the PYA will be hosting a social event for crew on Saturday 5th November, kindly sponsored by MYBA, HR Crew, United Advisors Marine, The Islander, BWA Yachting, Deckers and Topcoat Yacht Group.

They will be bringing crew the first ever PYA Go-Kart Grand Prix, followed by a crew party at Infuze Bar with plenty of food and drink, and a few other surprises. The event is completely free for PYA members to attend, with a small entrance fee for non-members.
