In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Dutch yard Heesen has revealed new details about its 57-metre (187-foot) explorer yacht project.
The yard noted that the 1,400GT vessel is “the first such yacht to be offered by Heesen in its 41-year history”.
A render of the 57m steel explorer was first unveiled at Monaco Yacht Show 2018, but no technical specs were released at the time. It was announced, however, that the yacht will be designed by Winch Designs.
Mark Cavendish, director of sales and marketing at Heesen, noted last year that the explorer would be “long-range, touch-build, helicopter-capable, with huge storage space for multiple tenders and toys. She will be less rugged Land Rover and more luxury Range Rover – essentially, she will take you off-road but in comfort and style!”
Since then, Cavendish has revealed new details about the project, suggesting that Heesen will use it to target the “next generation of yacht owners”.
“I understand that the children of today’s ultra-high net worth individuals are quite interested in the concept of going off on longer voyages; carrying a large number of toys with them so they can go exploring.
“Or perhaps, for example, heli-skiing in the Arctic or Antarctic – all those kinds of projects that the average yacht isn’t really set up for. I think the explorer concept is great for the future.”
