Hydro Tec 100m Crossbow concept taken on by ISA Yachts

Hydro Tec’s 100-metre (328-foot) Crossbow superyacht concept – its largest to date – has been taken on by ISA Yachts. The superyacht will now be showcased as the flagship of the ISA Yachts Sport Coupé line.

Built from an aluminium hull and superstructure, the arrow-like design has a beam of just 12.5 metres, over one metre less than average for this size bracket, and boasts a "fast, light and sleek sporty aesthetic".

To enable Crossbow to reach cruising grounds that would usually be off-limits for yachts of this size, the draught has been kept to just 3.5 metres.

The Italian design studio said it designed her exterior deck areas with “speed in mind”, with fixed furniture kept light and well protected from the wind. Meanwhile, when the boat is at anchor the bow can be transformed into an entertaining and sunbathing area.

It is estimated that once fitted with a pair of MTU 16V 4000 M93L engines, Crossbow will have a top speed of 25 knots.

An unconventional aspect of the design is the location of the wheelhouse, which will be fitted to the uppermost deck, leaving room on the main deck for a double-height forward-facing atrium.

Tender and toy storage is a key consideration in the design – this is evident in the foredeck helipad with hangar beneath and the spacious garage that can house a pair of 9.5-metre tenders and four Jet Skis amidships.

Elsewhere, key features of the Crossbow include a large beach club measuring 135 square metres, an upper-deck infinity pool, main-deck gymnasium and piano lounge, as well as a separate owner’s deck equipped with its own Jacuzzi, cinema, lounge and study.

Accommodation is for up to 16 guests across eight double cabins. The lower deck crew quarters allows for up to 32 staff.

Following Monaco Yacht Show 2018, Hydro Tec revealed that it had received “even more interest to develop new designs based on the core principles of project Crossbow”.
