Saint Mandrier-based shipyard, IMS, has recently announced the company’s expansion through the means of recruitment, equipment and services.
As a result of the opening of its second repair and maintenance site in December 2014, the company is due to take part in this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, where they are set to present the new changes.
Denis Pellegrino, CEO of IMS Shipyard said, “Since January, when we started to receive the first vessels at IMS 700, around a hundred boats have been taken in at our two sites. We are pleased to see that our activity is well ahead of the expected schedule.”
Encouraged by these initial results, IMS Shipyard continues to recruit and are set to interview around fifteen new prospective candidates this summer. In September, they will join the fifty already-new employees, taking the staff total up to 110 in-house. IMS will then welcome a further 150 subcontractor staff on a daily basis.
The shipyard has just ordered a new motorised trailer, able to move units of up to 350 tonnes into their boat shed at the IMS 700 site, ready for the new season. The IMS 700 site boasts four boat sheds, which can accommodate for heights of up to 15 metres.
IMS Shipyard will be at stand QS76 – Darse Sud at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.
