Dutch IT firm Intermac has launched SuperYachtCloud, the new online collaboration tool designed to revolutionise data management and sharing on board.
As every captain or owner knows, keeping track of important information on board a yacht can be a complex endeavour. While the crew is a yacht’s strength, human error is an ever-present factor. Crew members use multiple devices to access countless files and keep track of dozens of tasks and decisions every day.
Bart Willemse, director of Intermac said, “Stored in different formats on different computers – sometimes even hastily scribbled on post-its – crucial data can be tricky to access quickly in a crunch, and fiddly to hand over to new crew members. Crew profiles, yard meetings, technical decisions, receipts, port information, guest information: having all this content in one place is very useful for day-to-day operation and handovers.”
SuperYachtCloud is used for storing, accessing, and sharing information. It centralises all relevant data, makes it easy to retrieve and share as needed and ensures that it is easily accessible from anywhere. SuperYachtCloud stops the proliferation of content in different computer files and paper documents and minimises information loss on handover. As the data is in the cloud, it takes minimal time to set up and can be run from anywhere using any hardware, such as a tablet.
Bart Willemse continued, “SuperYachtCloud also features tools that let people share and discover content the same way they do on social media, from peers they trust. These and other functionalities will help ensure that this comprehensive application transforms the face of on board information management.”
