Introducing automatic fire extinguishers to the superyacht industry

Leading fire and safety company, Brandschutz Vertrieb Koenig, has introduced a unique new automatic fire extinguisher to the superyacht industry.

Labelled “Mabo”, it is an automatic fire extinguisher, which integrates state-of-the-art technology and a distinctive design, to extinguish fires unmanned, by dispersion of a glass ampoule containing a chemical solution. 

According to Brandschutz Vertrieb Koenig, the extinguisher is an ecological product, harmless to humans, animals and the environment, as well as being tested and meeting the requirements a of the CE 67/548/EEC.

The Mabo can be set up to be an automatic fire extinguisher, so when a fire breaks out, the solution ampoule reacts to the heat, and when it reaches a temperature of 84°C, the ampoule bursts open and instantly extinguishes the fire.

According to Brandschutz Vertrieb Koenig, advantages include, cooling, suffocation, evaporation control and preventing the fire from reigniting. Brandschutz Vertrieb Koenig also stated, “The units are simple to mount, do not require any technical knowledge, are maintenance free, have a shelf life of over ten years and can fully replace sprinklers at eight to ten times cheaper price.”
