Lürssen launches 135m project Thunder

Lürssen has launched project Thunder, a 135m motor yacht designed by Espen Oeino. The motor yacht was launched today from the floating dock in Bremen, Germany.

The yacht is reported to be on track for delivery towards the end of 2018 and, once delivered, will be one of the largest 20 yachts of all time.

Thunder comprises of a full displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure with teak decks. She also features zero-speed stabilisers for extra stability and comfort at anchor.

Amenities on board include a beach club, helicopter landing pad, elevator, massage room, movie theatre, swimming platform, swimming pool and tender garage. She also features underwater lights, air conditioning and barbequing facilities.

Lürssen has stated the interiors will be traditionally styled and are to be installed in the coming months.

According to Lürssen, the superyacht was named after the mythical Chinese god ‘Leigong’, which literally translates to ‘God of Thunder’. Fittingly, Lürssen expects Thunder to cruise mostly in Asian waters.
