Malcolm McKeon unveils 45m Explorer Concept MMX45

Leading designer Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design has revealed its newest motor yacht concept, a 45.4-metre (149-foot) explorer called MMX45.

The MMX45 is designed for extended passages and has all the characteristics of a large-scale expedition vessel, including a beam of 8.2 metres and a draft of 2.13 metres. The hull form is paired with advanced foils and stabilisers for increased on-board comfort whilst on long-range passages.

Accommodation on the explorer is for a total of eight guests, including the main-deck master, which also contains far-reaching visibility thanks to forward and side-facing windows, and three guest cabins. The crew quarters allows for a staff of five.

Other details include plenty of storage for multiple tenders, toys and equipment, and an elevated bridge and observation deck offering 360-degree views.

The propulsion remains top secret, however the studio has revealed that the yacht would have a top speed of 18 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles at a 12-knot cruising speed.
