Leading marine electronics brands Lowrance, Simrad and B&G have won both gold and bronze accolades in the prestigious UK & Ireland POPAI (Point of Purchase) Awards, for their bespoke ‘shop-in-shop’ installations.
The UK & Ireland POPAI awards are the benchmark for the point of sale industry and the offering from Lowrance, Simrad and B&G took the prize in a category that also included technology brands such as Samsung, Phones4U and Asus. The brands also scooped the bronze position in the overall Display of the Year award, beating 218 other nominated companies.
Leif Ottosson, president and chief executive officer for Navico said, “We are delighted to have been recognised for the new shop-in-shop installations, our aim was to ensure customers experience the look, feel and use of a product without having to leave the store or set foot on the water.
“Winning the POPAI accolades just shows that what is ground-breaking within the marine industry is also setting a benchmark for the consumer retail market. As a leader in marine electronic innovations, it is important to us to be able to demonstrate to our retailers that we can offer hands on experience in a very successful format.”
The shop-in-shop is funded as a joint venture between Navico and their retailers. There are 20 modules installed throughout Europe, with a further 50 stores lined up for fit-out in the coming months.
Alrec, who creates in store experiences globally for companies such as HP, Sony and Diesel clothing, worked with Navico’s marketing experts to create in-store solutions that would fit exactly with the needs of both the marine consumer and marine stores.
