Maritime Skills Academy recognised by new MNTB scheme

UK crew-training provider Maritime Skills Academy has become one of the first seafarer training centres to be recognised by the Merchant Navy Training Board’s (MNTB) new recognition scheme.

The scheme recognises high-quality training centres in the UK and abroad by awarding an MNTB kitemark, designed to inform prospective students of the standout maritime training facilities available to them and improve training standards.

The Maritime Skills Academy, based in Dover, will formally receive its MNTB recognition at the UK Chamber of Shipping’s annual Summer Lunch on 20th June.

In a release, Maritime Skills Academy said, “All of us at the MSA are extremely happy to be recognised as a training provider that meets the MNTB’s criteria of such a high standard.”

The new recognition scheme is being operated by the MNTB with the full involvement and approval of the UK Chamber of Shipping.
