MB92 celebrates 25th anniversary of superyacht refit works

Barcelona refit shipyard MB92, is this year celebrating its 25^th anniversary of superyacht refit and repair works.

Starting activity back in 1992, MB92 is now one of the largest superyacht refit, repair and maintenance facilities for luxury yachts, with new investment in facilities and equipment growing the Barcelona yard from 25,200m2 in 1992 to 124,000m2 today.

According to the refit yard, MB92 is continuing to see growth in what is its 25^th year: It reports refitting around 100 yachts annually in recent years, with an average length of 70m.

The business is also building for the future, with development plans for a new shiplift and hard-standing area with capacity for 12 vessels at a time. 

Aykut Ozgulsun, depty CEO at MB92 said, “The future for the superyacht refit market is bright, which is why we are investing in a new 4,000-ton shiplift that will permit the dry-docking of vessels up to 105 metres in length. This increased capacity will enable us to continue servicing the world’s finest superyachts.”
