MB92 Group has announced that it has restarted activity at both of its facilities in Barcelona and La Ciotat.
Operations, which resumed on 14th April, are to be escalated gradually and involve extremely strict procedures to protect all people entering and operating in the shipyard.
These will control all working procedures, as well as the flow and movement throughout the various areas within the sites.
Pepe García-Aubert, CEO and president of MB92 Group, said, “The health and safety of our employees, clients, suppliers and local community has always been our absolute priority. When we made the difficult decision to suspend activity at our facilities on 16th March, we did so pre-emptively as there was a lack of concrete containment measures established by international organisations or regional and national governments at that time.
“Given the significant flow of people into and out of our facilities and the rising number of cases in Europe, the MB92 Group was as prudent as possible to protect everyone’s health, especially when considering the reduced availability of adequate personal protection at that time.”
With signs of improvement in both Spain and France and clear guidelines issued by relevant health authorities, MB92 has sourced all of the necessary personal protective equipment through official channels to begin working again.
In addition to this protective equipment, MB92 has also put specific organisational measures in place to reduce contact between everyone operating in the facilities. Therefore, staff who can work from home continue to do so and works on board are orchestrated in such a way as to reduce contact to a bare minimum while always respecting social distancing measures.
García-Aubert added, “We have always believed that our ability to adapt to difficult situations and find solutions for our clients was one of the keys to our success. Today it is thanks to this quality that we will overcome this crisis and be stronger as a result.”
