MDL Marinas appoints new managing director

MDL Marinas has today announced that Lesley Robinson will join the company as managing director in early November. According to MDL, Lesley is an experienced business leader with a strong commercial, customer-focused and financial background.

Lesley has operated at director level in the leisure, fast-moving consumer goods, media and technology industries both internationally and in the UK. She will be joining MDL from her most recent role as a director at the Money Advice Service and will be relocating to the Hamble area.

Lesley said, “I’m delighted to be joining MDL and I am looking forward to getting started as soon as possible. I’m excited about the growth opportunities ahead of us and to be part of the team serving our customers.”

This news comes after the marina’s recent announcement at the end of August that they will be showcasing ‘unmissable long-term berthing opportunities’ at MDL’s Italian facility, Marina di Stabia, during this year’s Southampton Boat Show.

Edward Iliffe, chairman at MDL Marinas commented, “I am delighted that Lesley is joining us and I look forward to working with her. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our retiring managing director, Eamonn Feeney, who has done an excellent job of building the MDL business, which is now poised for further growth. Eamonn takes with him our very warmest wishes as he moves into the next phase of his career.”

Eamonn, retiring managing director said, “I’ve had a fabulous four years at the helm here, in what is a great industry with great people, and I’m personally pleased to be handing on a business in good shape to my successor. I’ll keep up my links with the industry as I migrate towards doing non-exec/consultancy work from January 2016.”
