Michelle Keegan set to appear at 48th Southampton Boat Show

The award-winning actress Michelle Keegan is set to appear at the 2016 Southampton Boat Show, which begins on Friday, 16th September for ten days.

Incorporating one of Europe’s largest purpose-built marinas, the show will have hundreds of boats on display, including 330 on the marina and over 2km of pontoons. According to reports from the show, it will offer visitors an “exciting array of new attractions.”

As well as a long-running role in Coronation Street, Michelle Keegan is currently starring in a lead role in BBC drama ‘Our Girl’, and forthcoming ITV drama ‘Tina and Bobby.’ She said, “I am thrilled to be opening the Southampton Boat Show this year. As an avid fan of all types of activity on the water, I’m really excited to spend some time at the show, soaking up the atmosphere and experiencing some of the brilliant attractions on offer.”

Attractions at this year’s show will include a festival stage, featuring a line-up of live music, fashion shows and expert talks. There are also multiple on-water activities also, including stand up paddle boarding, and opportunities for visitors to experience life on an ocean-racing yacht first-hand.

Standout vessels at the show will also include Artemis, the three-masted Norwegian sailing barque, and the Team Britannia vessel, currently bidding to break the world record for the fastest circumnavigation of the globe by powerboat.

“The show attracts visitors from those new to boating to avid sailors as well as a host of famous names, and we’re thrilled that Michelle will be joining us to help open the show.”
