Monaco Marine Group starts redevelopment of Bois Sacré site in Toulon Harbour

Monaco Marine Group and the Ports Toulon Provence port authority have entered the operational phase of a redevelopment of the Bois Sacré site in Toulon Harbour near La Seyne sur Mer.

Scheduled for completion in March 2017, Monaco Marine is redeveloping almost 30,000 m2 of the Bois Sacré site. The aim is to create two separate zones that will be home to various activities related to the maintenance, repair and refit of sail, motor and multihull yachts from 10m to 60m LOA.

The total investment of the redevelopment has amounted to €20.8 million, €15 million from Monaco Marine and €5.8 million from Ports Toulon Provence, for the reconstruction of the port’s infrastructures. This investment, both public and private, is expected to create 40 direct and 100 indirect jobs.

According to Ports Toulon Provence, the request by Monaco Marine to redevelop the site in 2011 perfectly supported their goal of Ports Toulon Provence to develop the yachting activity in the area. In 2015, the port authority launched a mini-cluster federation of yachting professionals, with the aim to make the bay of Toulon a hub of skills and competences for the yachting industry.

In 2015, the bay hosted 167 yachts and since March 2016, three superyachts over 100m have benefitted from its long docks and deep waters for refuelling and supply.
