Moonen offers in-build update on Project Martinique

Moonen Shipyards has provided an in-build update on its 36.3-metre (119-foot) Project Martinique, which is on course to be completed in the coming months.

Built to Lloyd’s standards and currently offered for sale with Edmiston, Project Martinique boasts exterior styling by Rene Van Der Velden and naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design.

New images released by Moonen show her 349GT Nauta Design interior is starting to take shape with the interior joinery installed, but the yard confirmed there is still time for an owner to stamp their mark on the project by selecting the loose furniture and interior fabrics.

Martinique is easily identifiable as being part of the Moonen family, but features a low-profile exterior, vertical windows and noticeably sharper lines. She has a modern layout inside, with a main-deck owner’s cabin offering panoramic views, a spacious main saloon and a country-style galley.

180-square-metres of al fresco space has been catered for within the external design, with key features including a 5.5-metre tender garage and the option for a crane to store a variety of water toys on the bridge deck. The design incorporates a high tensile steel hull, which offers significant weight savings without any loss of strength.

Accommodation is for 10 people across two lower-deck VIP cabins and two guest cabins. Back aft, the crew quarters is particularly spacious and can house up to six staff in four cabins.

Power comes from a pair of 1,925hp Caterpillar C32 engines for a top speed of 14.5 knots and a maximum cruising range of 3,900 nautical miles at ten knots.

Moonen first revealed its Caribbean range of yachts, including Martinique, in 2014 as a contemporary style of superyacht that blended the yard’s building heritage with modern design configurations. The first semi-custom yacht in the series, the 29.9-metre (98-foot) Moonen Matica, launched in May 2016 and was named Bijoux.
