Myles Taylor wins Gymmarine.com superyacht personal trainer competition

Gymmarine.com has announced the winner of its superyacht personal trainer competition as 27-year-old Myles Taylor, a personal trainer and crew member based out of the UK. Myles has spent four years training elite athletes in both soccer and golf, but also works and trains on board superyachts.

The competition, run by Gym Marine, asked for crew entrants to post videos of themselves taking part in the Atlantic crossing season. Participants in the competition utilised their surroundings as makeshift gymnasiums, with impressive results. Many of the entrants reproduced inventive interpretations of workouts and techniques more commonly found on dry land.

Asked what he thought was behind his win, Taylor commented, “I’m just passionate about getting out there and doing it. I want to be an inspiration for others. There’s no point in just telling people what to do, you have to get out there and show them what can be done. I train people for a living, so building a network based on reputation and integrity, and then walking the talk is what really matters.”
