Nakheel puts out tender for six Diera Island marinas

Nakheel has announced that tenders are now being accepted for the development of six marinas on its new multi-million AED Diera Island offshore project in Dubai.

According to the state-owned real estate developer, the six marinas will be located across Diera’s four man-made islands - able to accommodate a total of 600 yachts including an as yet unspecified number of superyachts. Tenders close for the project on 19th February 2017.

The four islands will include a variety of mixed-use plots for the development of beachfront resorts, hotels and residential communities, including a 620,000sqm shopping mall, 120 retail units, a business district, boardwalk areas, cafés, restaurants, and 21km of waterfront development.

One of the six marinas will be used to serve the upcoming Deira Islands Night Souk market, which is due for completion in 2018.

Currently, stage one infrastructure works have been completed ahead of time on two of the four Diera Islands, with stage two infrastructure works now underway. Last month, Nakheel announced that Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) would complete and open the new $40.8m (AED150m) bridge linking the Diera Islands development to mainland Dubai.
