Turkish yard AvA Yachts has announced that the hull and superstructure have been joined on the second hull of its Kando 110 series, which was sold to NBA star Tony Parker last year.
The 35-metre (115-foot) superyacht, which will feature a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with a bulbous bow, is on course to be launched in mid-2020.
Atilla Kucukdiker, chairman and found of AvA Yachts, has confirmed that the yacht will debut at next year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, commenting, “Construction is well underway and Kando #2 will be testimony to the skilled workforce that AvA Yachts and Antalya has to offer.”
With a 340GT interior, the yacht will accommodate up to 12 guests across six cabins, while the crew quarters will house up to six staff in three cabins, including a separate captain’s double cabin.
Spanning four decks, she will boast a “light, contemporary interior décor”, specifically chosen by Parker and his wife.
Power will come from twin Volvo-Penta 650hp engines for a range of 6,400 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots.
AvA Yachts previously noted that Parker put the yard through a “rigorous selection procedure”, which saw his advisors meet with the Turkish yard on three separate occasions.
Kucukdiker added, “To have a world-famous celebrity like Mr Parker demonstrate his confidence at such an early stage of the development of the Kando series has made us immensely proud and we will deliver a yacht that will surpass all his expectations.”
