New 100m superyacht concept to feature TiltRotor aircraft

London studio Winch Design has developed a new 100m superyacht concept by London studio, Winch Design is to feature a landing pad and hangar for an Augusta Westland 609 TiltRotor aircraft.

Originally designed for use by the military, TiltRotor planes were not available to civilians until recently. But the new yacht concept will enable superyacht owners to land a plane onto one of the decks.

Not many details have been revealed about the forthcoming superyacht and it has not yet been commissioned, but the current concept is the result of a collaboration with Dutch shipyard Oceanco. According to Winch Design, the vessel will feature a host of expansive interior spaces and tender garages.

The brand also revealed that she will be able to travel at speeds of up to 28 knots, and will have a beam of 21m to accommodate the landing deck required for the aircraft, the Augusta Westland 609.

The aircraft itself is able to travel at speeds of up to 275 knots at an altitude of 25,000ft, and has a range of 700 nm. It is also able to perform long range trips, taking up to nine passengers and two crew.
